I've heard from mine as well today. It wasn't all smiles though. My sailor is having a bit of a meltdown after looking at Facebook. Feels like he is missing too much with us.

I've not heard from mine. I hope it is because he's off having fun and not still working.

Hey all so the ship is doing a fundraiser for Dave and Busters it is either a $10 or $20 power play card and the $2.00 activation is waived. If anyone would like them please message me and let me know how many and for what price and your address. I have to have this in by May 1st. If you like Dave and Busters or have never went its an awesome place to go and play games basically it's like a grown up Chuckie Cheese with awesome food.

Happy Easter to all. Heard from my sailor today. Love it when we talk, he sounded really good. He is look forward to shore leave. It is alway hard when we hang up especially today when we would be spending this special day together. ed's mom glad you heard from your son.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate this joyful day.  I woke up to a text from Edward saying that he will be flown out to the ship today. How exciting for him! Although I am puzzled that they would bother if they are almost in port anyway.  Now I guess the wait begins to see when next I will hear from him.

Comment by ed'smom on April 19, 2014 at 7:28pm

Kris, Please thank your son for us.  We didn't get everything done but I can send things. I got a text from Edward today on Viber that he got to the base in Bahrain safely. What a relief.  No one gave him a contact or confirmed that anyone would meet him, but thankfully they did and he said they were about 15 of them when they picked everyone up. This all feels very surreal,  Jeanie, great news! Mommaross congrats to your son! So good to hear he's happy and Edward laughed about the beer, Maybe they will share one in some port.

That is great to hear you finally heard from him and he's doing well.

Comment by Jeannie on April 19, 2014 at 5:40pm

Yippy! I talked to my son today!  He is doing GREAT!!! Just very busy.  He said he will work on getting his email setup at the next port. Very excited to hear from him.

Edsmom:

Just got this from my son, I told him about the what to bring. etc.

BRING A SLEEPING BAG. 30 pairs of underwear/socks and multiple toothbrush, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, and deodorant. Those are bare essentials. I don’t really talk to any one from VFA 15 but I'm sure I'll run into him eventually!
