08/08. She measures about 2wks ahead, so they say I conceived sooner, but it's impossible. lol My husband and I were separated by 1,000mi for 3.5mo. lol I Todd then not to change the due date because she'll come when she's ready. lol

What about you?

JennaN92 My husband and I are expecting our first child as well. :-) He's at RTC right now; PIR in June.

Communication. That is so key. Keep writing as much in boot camp at possible because it helps both of you. When my husband (fiance at the time) was in boot camp I wrote him letters almost everyday even though he could only write on Sundays to me. But it kept our communication going and our feelings and so on. But my husband had been in Aschool and is about to get his first orders in a couple of days so it's a little scary but he's been in chicago for school for about 3 months not including boot camp and it's been difficult not being with him even though I'm able to talk to him a lot now at the time but he's not around me most of the time and we're expecting our first child and there's a lot you have to sacrifice and give up but in the end its worth it but It's rough...you just need your family and friends surrounding you during those times that you're not able to talk to your sailor or see them. Just keep strong :)

Hi everyone, my boyfriend is in Bootcamp right now and graduates on May 9. It has been a difficult past couple weeks but time has gone quickly and we have been writing often. We have made it through this hurdle and I am confident we will be able to continue our relationship in the time ahead but I can't help but panic a little when I think about deployment. It was hard enough being without him for 2 months, I can't imagine 7 or 8. Can anyone tell me how they do it? Is deployment as bad as bootcamp in terms of separation? It just seems like such an unbearably long time to be apart. Thanks

Contact the ombudsman. That's what she's there for is to help you out with questions or concerns. 

I wouldn't expect a delivery confirmation on your package. My husband is on carriers and they don't even do delivery confirmation. 

But as far as the email goes, 3 weeks without email is normal for submarines. I've heard of wives who've gone 12+ weeks without a single email. Just keep sending your email and he'll send one back whenever he has time and whenever they are allowed. Also, try not to discuss with others how long you've gotten an email or when you have gotten one. For many sub commands this is considered an OPSEC violation because of the state the sub is in when they are or are not sending emails. 

No news is good news. If you haven't heard of a US Navy Submarine crash or no one has showed up at your door to notify you of such, that's good news! I know it's not always easy to think of it that way, but that's just the way the sub community works many times. Hang in there!
