OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by suebal MM3 USS California SSN781 on April 23, 2014 at 12:27pm: Good morning all. Been quite a while since I posted here. Congratulations to all passing their tests. They are hard. BUT, and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, they are nothing compared to what they go through at Prototype. Rotating schedules, competing with everyone else to get signatures, and pressure--more pressure than they've ever encountered. They've just got to keep their heads down, keep studying, keep up with "outside" stuff (running, working out, etc.), and sleep when they can. AND THEN THERE'S THE FLEET (which is where my son is on his sub...but that's a whole nother story. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

There seemed to be a lot of weeks where the exams were Tuesday and Friday. My son is an ET. Not sure what rate your son is. Maybe their test schedule is different? All I know is that I stressed every time he had an exam. So glad its over. I'm sure your son will do great. Hang in there!

My son graduates June 6 and is also an ET. Does that mean that at this point he is taking 2 tests a week?

Comment by JeffsMom on April 23, 2014 at 11:18am: Happy Wednesday! Zoraida and The boy wonder mom, I will be thinking of your sons! Definitely getting enough sleep is sooo important, for their mental health and physical health.

My husband and I got to talk with our son last night. He sounded good. Was just finishing up studying before he called. He just got done with command moral boost (Monday and Tuesday off) and really got to enjoy some time away at his friend's parent's home in FL. Both guys really needed the break and I was happy he got to spend Easter with a family, rather that at school.

Comment by BoyWonderMom on April 22, 2014 at 6:33pm: My son just told me he passed today's test. I could tell he's not too happy about it. His score is a bit low and he still don't deal with that very good. He knows a passing score is all he needs, but this are the lasts six weeks and I know the study load is harder to take and anxiety is creeping in. I'm just hope he eats and sleep well enough to keep the battle day in and day out. Thank God for N4M, nobody else quite understand.

But, at the moment...just trying his best to get through PS. One day at a time. I continually remind him of this. It seemed to ease his mind a little. He just does his best each and every day. He says time is really flying by! I don't doubt it. ;o)

Best of luck to all of you and your sailors. It is a huge endeavor but the best of the best make it thru this tough pipeline.
