DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

So proud of my son! But lots of tears! To help me deal better, I have started my own "boot camp" to lose weight while he's gone. I hope to have him proud of me when I see him in June at graduation. He is my motivation!

Anyone else have a seaman recruit in Chicago today?

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April to connect with others with loved ones who arrived today and may have PIR together.

I also invite you to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

thanks so much!

You are very welcome.

Check your My Page.

Hey that is a fantastic idea. My son left today as well. Maybe I will join you.

well, if you do - good luck!

I've started the same thing now. My son has always been in great shape, but right now, he's helping me with my own journey so I'll have well established routines when he heads out on Sep 24.  It's actually bringing us closer and that's a memory that will stick in my head while he's gone.

My son is my motivation - hope I make him proud too!

What day will he graduate if he left today?

I haven't gotten a grad. date yet - his recruiter said he might know in 72 hours.

PIR will most likely be 06/20/2014 by counting 9 Fridays. It could be the week before or after. You'll have to wait until you get the form letter in about 10 days to know for sure.

my daughter gets married june 15th - sure hope its the week after!
