Hi everyone - Happy Friday!  We are back from visiting our son in Ballston Spa - we had a wonderful time visiting (too short though) and met some other sailors too.  Now I'm trying to catch up on everything - both here and at work - ugh!  We made it to Cooperstown - Baseball Hall of Fame and that was great fun!

I'll second Patti's comment about BS in August - it is horse racing season and everything is booked solid.  The hotel we stayed at was already booked through the race season (end of July-September and the rates double!).

Dianeproudmom - Our son is also supposed to graduate PT in September, but I'm not going to count on it as they have many delays!  I would definitely hold off on making reservations until much closer to the time as it will most likely change.  What class is your son in?

Patti - that's awesome that your dad did the Honor Flight.  What a wonderful experience - thank him for his service please!

Hope everyone is wearing their Red today!

How do you know which class your nuke is in? Is it the 4 digit number which is part of his address? My son does not offer a lot of information to me. That's just the way he is. That is why I don't post very often but I do read all the N4M comments to get my information.

Dittersmom I wish I could help but mine is 1420M... I do know my son was super nervous about a test 3 -4 weeks ago. Went in for extra help and he would get it, then be confused on the next problem. His instructor aid he was "nuking it". He was over thinking everything and couldn't see the tree in the forest. He was sure he was going to fail, not just do bad. He was wrong and passed with very decent grade for all his worries! It will be ok and I will add a prayer for your son today.

Patti P- thank you for the pictures and tell you dad thank you for his service. It makes me cry every time I see our vets gather here and I get a chance to say thankyou.  I appreciate all they have done and given up for us.

Please say a prayer for my son.  He is taking a test tomorrow and he is really nervous about it.  He is in A school, but he was worried about it enough that he called at 11:30pm his time to ask for prayers.  I reminded him that God is always leading if he will just follow.  Does anyone have a nuke in class 1426A?

PattiP thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures--what a special day that must have been.  Congrats to everyone who has been posting good news lately.  It's been great to see all the successes.  And to those whose sailors who are shifting direction, best wishes and we want to hear about their new paths.  There are so many opportunities out there, it just might take time to find the right fit.

My son is in the A School routine now and seems to be enjoying it in spite of the workload.  It's good to see him grabbing onto the opportunities in front of him.  Wishing everyone an enjoyable spring season!

I like the pictures Patti even though they are distorted. Such a special honor to a deserving group!

Congrats to your dad being able to go!  I miss my Dad and he was not able to go on the Honor Flight.  Please tell your Dad thanks from all of us!

The Prototype one is smaller but so nice.  It was very relaxed and there's a lot of interaction with the family members.  I loved it.  Like Patti said, if you have to pick one the Power School is definitely the one to go to but if it's not a struggle financially, don't miss the Prototype one either.  I was fortunate that we were only a 3 hr ride away fro BS so it wasn't a big trial to get there.  The photos we took are great and my son seemed to like that we were there.

I went to a graduation at the  Knights of Columbus too, our son was in MARF so it was the afternoon graduation.  Almost the entire graduating class went to submarines. All of his roommates were ETs too and all of them got subs.  His submarine will be relocating to Hawaii soon.
