Anna, She took the advancement test in March, while deployed. She scored 62 points over the highest score, but someone put her as aCTT3IT which there is no rate, so they kicked her test. Her CO, looked at her test and all the scores, said it wasn't her fault for the typo. He put in a CAP request, and it was granted. So she was CAPed yesterday. Not frocked. That is why she gets the pay right away.

Catsmom,

Wow!!  From what you described in your earlier post this is something different from getting frocked!!  Did she take the advancement test?  So if her CO does it it goes through immediately?  Pay and everything??  That sounds awesome!!!  I need to be re-educated!!!

Good morning everyone.

Jean we are in need of some of your rain. Going to be very hot here. Predicting 100 + temps...Yesterday was in the 90's. praying you don't to get to hot up there, you don't need more fires.

Went to walk on the beach last night, tide was up, so just walked along the boardwalk , and paths around the beach. Was beautiful. I love the beach at night.

Hope everyone has a good day, praying the weather is good for everyone.

Good Morning to Everyone.

Anna, we had so much rain yesterday that we had the whole month in one day. We are now back up and beyond what we need for July. The sun will return this weekend that is when we are back to the 80's again. I like the sun but not to hot.

Thank you everyone.

Carlinedog, Her CO requested that she rank up, and it was approved. So she was promoted to petty officer 2 nd class. And her pay is effective right away. She is very excited about that!
Now to get her divorcee final!

jappyj,

Unfortunately I don't know anything about challenge coins at RTC.

Charliedog,

What Catsmom is talking about is when a sailor passes the advancement tests and is selected for advancement.  At the CO's discretion (although almost all do it now) the sailors can wear their new rate on their uniforms and can start doing the job of their new rate, but they just don't get the pay until it goes through dispersement.  Pay can sometimes take up to 6 months.

This is also referred by some as getting frocked.

Catsmom,

CONGRATULATIONS TO CRYSTAL!!!! It is so happy to hear some good news happening to our girl!!!!

Jean,

You and I know we want what ever is best for Christine and the baby, but I hope the wee little one doesn't decide to take too long!!!!!  Hope you're weather gets back to normal soon.  Everyone's webbed feet will start to return to normal!!!!!  haha

Denise,

So happy to "see" you again!!!  How's everything going with you and your sailor????
