Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I have not received my SR form letter yet. I am finding very difficult to concentrate today, all I can think about is if the letter came.. lol I completely understand your running to the mailbox, I do the same. I bet if there was a check for a million dollars and a letter from my SR I would be more excited about the letter than the money...hahahaha

I will keep you in my thoughts today and hope that we both get our letters.

I understand and your are absolutely right Hooter56-Mom! 

My son's recruiter says that he is on Ship 2 Division 944 which is a music division. I am even more excited to see my boy play in the band for graduation if this information is true. This is just pure torture! LOL............

The Form Letter arrives an average of 10 days after the recruit arrives at the RTC. See . Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). The RTC has asked that you wait on The Form Letter before sending mail to your recruit. See http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/fam_guide.asp.

I received the form letter yesterday 7-28-14 and my son SR PIR date is 9-12-14 SHIP 12 DIV 290 anyone else??

Not sure if I should post this yet, but my son leaves on March 10th, 2015.  He just received his eye waiver and was sworn in (for the first time) today.  At least now we know what school he will be going to and finally have a date.  Everyone else is talking about their child leaving in a few days or have already left...I have 8 months to deal with his impatience to get going into this chapter of his life.  LOL

Hi BethH, soooo how's it going?!? I too found out my son had sworn in about the same time as your son did. 

It was a long wait til March 10th, but NOW, waiting for "the form letter" seems almost LONGER than those 8 months (LOL).

Have YOU by any chance gotten your FORM LETTER from your son yet? I received the "kid in the box" but that's all.
