Was there still a get together on Aug 26 at Sherwoods?
Hi ladies, my daughter got back last night from WA state. She said she had a great time visiting her brother. He took around the base and they had a fun time sight seeing in Seattle. She showed us a lot of pics and said she would definitely go back. My son then called and told us he might be able to come home for Christmas. We will see still far off.
Welcome Connors Mom! My daughter is a DC on the Bush. I'm down in Superior Twp around Ann Arbor. How about you?
Kathy B, Thanks for your prayers. All prayers appreciated. It will be great if your daughter and son can connect in CA before he heads home.
Welcome Connors mom, my son is a Nuke MM, submarine service. He's been through all the nuke training your son will get so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. BC is quite a transition and you will be amazed at the changes in your son when it's over. Be sure to attend his PIR and write him lots of letters during BC.
Lori, I hope your daughter has a safe trip and a good time with her brother. Once my sailor transfers out there in January, I will be planning trips to WA.
Drove my daughter to the airport yesterday. She is flying out to WA to see her brother. She was very excited. Once he is done today he is going to spend the weekend with her in Seattle. Was a bit jealous since my husband and I have yet to go there for a visit. I am hoping next spring or summer. All depends on deployment. Luckily he was still on shore for her visit.
Hello fellow Michigander Navy Moms. My son will be leaving soon for BC then to A school for Nukes. Looking forward to all your advice and help.
Welcome MamaBurt! We are all over MI and Lorraine said it best. Write lots of letters. And we are here for you. Lori is correct, bring lots of tissues to PIR.
Navygirlsmom, happy to hear your daughter is doing okay.
This summer is flying by.
Marianne, thanks for the update on the packages for the Molly's Adoption of the GHWBush. That is fantastic!
Welcome, MamaBurt. I hope you find lots of helpful information on Navy4Moms. Have you joined any other groups that will help you? Write lots of letters while your SR is in boot camp. They appreciate it very much. I still cherish the letters my son sent FROM boot camp in 2009. Now I hardly hear from him. Yes, get ready for the "big independence." They grow up a LOT! Come here often for support, answers, and to share what you learn. Does your son know what he will be doing in the Navy and what type of boat he will serve on?
Navygirlsmom, so glad your daughter is hanging in there. Hugs.
MamaBurt, welcome.
Navygirlsmom, I am glad she is doing well. Make sure to bring lots of tissue to PIR it will be very emotional.
