Hello everyone! My fiancé is at boot camp right now, and will be going to Charleston in three weeks. I'll be joining him either the day he gets there or a day after. Our wedding is a few days after he arrives there! Nice to meet all of you, I'll be sure to ask questions since I'm new to the whole program and the Navy :)

Oh Hi Kristin!  My son is also EM.  He hadn't heard anything yet.  Although I think he was playing playstation while I was talking to him so his answers to questions were basically one syllable words...sigh.

I think from my son and others here it is generally a couple of months. they have INDOC first for a couple of weeks.

My son volunteered for submarines on the same day he entered the Navy delayed enlistment program, about 8 months  before he was sent to boot camp.  He is on a submarine now.

Thanks everyone for the answer on sub or surface. Mark... I appreciate your in-depth response. Fascinating. I believe my son will choose surface, but wasn't sure when he had to make that choice.

My son had PIR on January 31st and started A school March 3rd. It does depend on Mm, EM, or ET. He also was in a class and then waited a week for group behind him to do the last part. He graduates A school August 15th.

Hey Elizabeth, my son hit Goose Creek with yours. He spoke of 8/8. He is EM. I'm visiting this weekend. Will let you know if I hear any news :)
