For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Comment by diannep on July 26, 2014 at 9:51am: Alexandra James: Check the reviews on the Ramada through TripAdvisor. We have had very mixed reviews re: that hotel on here in the past. Not in a great area either....Navy Lodge is a better choice in my opinion. If Navy Lodge shows no rooms available online, call the hotel directly because sometimes they will have rooms.

Midway is the furthest from GL....OHare is the closest....but Milwaukee WI (be sure to check Southwest into Milwaukee) is the shortest drive time, no traffic. Southwest has no change fee and 2 bags check for free.

Navy Lodge is a good suggestion...book in your SR's name. Economical, renovated about a yr ago, about a mile or so from RTC. You can't walk it because it is a heavy traffic area, no sidewalks....other suggestions for hotels (call these directly and ask for Navy Grad rate)....Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express....all near Sarge's MeetandGreet, about 4-5 miles from RTC.

I want to be available as much as possible so I haven't booked my flight yet. Most likely will book beginning this week.

Comment by Alecat navy wifey on July 26, 2014 at 4:46am: my husband called me today :) it was the best 3 minutes of my life he also said that tomorrow he will be able to call me and that they were sorting out the letters now. super happy to hear his voice. I also got the letter and reserved the Ramada hotel .. what's all about the Navy lodge ? should I cancel my Ramada reservations ? it was about $67 per night I thought that was ok . ship 4 div 288

He was in the band in high school and loved it. Triple threat I am so excited for my baby and so proud. He is my true hero. I can't wait to see him on Sept 12th.
