DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Momma T:  I think you hit it!  Yep, all of those shots at once, sleep deprivation, and lots of bodies close together can make for some illnesses at bootcamp!

So glad to have received a call again this week...hoping for every Saturday! However, it was a horrible week for my son. He said he woke up with he chills Monday morning and does not know how he managed to pass his swimsuit without throwing up in the pool. Went to SIQ and had a 102 fever so was out on rest and meds for 1 day. Was better on Wednesday and was dental day so had 2 wisdom teeth pulled out on rest Thursday and woke up with two pink eyes Friday which they determined was allergies so gave him  allergy med and nasal spray. On top of all that, LUCKILY, they did not pull his position has RPOC. However he sounds very home sick although he's just 20 minutes down the road. He had not been sick since about 7th grade so I am betting he would have preferred to be cuddled up in his own bed with mom catering to him! 6 more weeks!!

So glad to get a phone call today! He sounded so much better than from his letter! He said the group is slowly coming together as a team and everyone seems to be getting over being sick. Hearing his voice made everything better! Hope everyone else gets a call today! Oh how I LOVE to see that 847 area code!! Ship 13 Div 278!
