~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

cgren,

Yes, it will be no problem for your SR to be out for 4 days.and still be on schedule for PIR.  They actually have extra days built into the schedule to account for SRs being sick, having wisdom teeth pulled, needing more time to complete tasks~~

With all the young folks coming in from all over the United States and the world, the vaccinations, and close quarters, it is rather expected that the Ricky Crud will make its way through Boot Camp.  Totally survivablle and normal!!

Lanie:  Those flying out for A School most likely will fly out on Saturday sometime, but being a holiday weekend, it is possible some won't leave until Sunday.  So be sure to book your own return no earlier than Sunday, if possible, so you won't miss any time with your sailor.  You may have Fri/Sat Liberty with your sailor and then an airport visit with your sailor on Sunday.  They won't know their flights until right before PIR.

One of our N4Moms veterans has a son who told her he was leaving on Saturday....when he was at Bootcamp... but that got changed and he ended up having the whole weekend instead....so things happen!

It is highly unlikely that the sailors will fly out on Labor Day due to heavy air traffic schedules that day.

I got a call this evening at 8:29 EST from my son Ship 03 Division 272. This is the second call he has made home (1st one last Sat). He had to have his wisdom teeth pulled. He is 22 and had braces. He had 2 the orthodontist did not pull because he had room for them but the Navy wanted them out I guess... He has also developed a sinus infection/cough, but feeling better today. He was out for 4 days. He said he has one test to make up tomorrow, but so far they have not informed him that this will delay his PIR. Can he miss 4 days and still graduate with his division? He said there has been a number of them sick with this or that. He sounded good attitude wise, but still has a cough. Ugh!!! Was hoping the crud would stay out of their division!!!

I saw a post that those that "A"school will have liberty Fri-Sat-Sun and Monday due to Labor day weekend.  Does anyone know if the "A" School is NOT in Great Lakes , how long the Liberty will be?
