~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Tracy - They are trying to get our boys to be men. lol

One time when my husband was in Iraq I got a random phone call from him. He started it out with, I'm okay and they are making me call you. lol He had cut his head and had staples put in. If I didn't get that call I probably would have found out later or when he got home and I saw the scar.

They don't want us to worry if it is nothing. :)

DIANNEP when my son has his wisdom teeth pulled last week he was still able to call home with his division while he was SIQ. So maybe they all dont lose there privileges for phone calls during SIQ.

Tracy:  No, they normally do not call you if your SR is in the hospital, but sometimes the SR himself can call.  Many times, families find out that their SR was in the hospital after the fact and he/she is now back to training,  No worries...they take good care of them.  SRs being hospitalized at times is more common than you think....but usually for just a day or too (many for pneumonia).

Try not to worry....these SRs are strong!

Thanks Diannep I am really hoping we get the extra time with him!

You have talent galore, Lala!  So cute!

Yep, when they have their wisdom teeth out, they get a couple of days of SIQ (sick in quarters) to rest.  They catch up in training....but they miss phone calls with their division if they happen when they are SIQ.

pink 1963 - mine was sick as well - when he had his wisdom out he said he had time to just lay and rest and felt better
