If you have heard when the ship is moving to Mayport email me. My son doesn't have a phone so I haven't talked to him for month.

Good group on Facebook:  "Navy Home Search."  You have to request to join.  Just saw this for example, near Mayport - what a pretty house!

4 bedroom, 2 bathroom House on Atlantic Blvd and Kernan Blvd near NS Mayport for sale OR rent: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11965-Diamond-Springs-Dr-Jacksonv...

Rent would be $1750/month and a $1750 security deposit. $300 fee for pets (max lbs: 25; limit: 1 dog and/or 1 cat). If you would like to see the house, please contact First Coast Real Management at 904-701-3276. It's not technically up for rent yet on their website but it will be soon.

ProudkMom,

I sent you a friend request with info about my son.  Cool video on YouTube watching what happens with your son's job. They sure are impressive, aren't they?

My son is attached to the Iwo Jima because he is the deck engineer on the LCAC for this ship. This is all pretty new for me. Watching the news lately has made everything seem more real. What does your sailor do?

Comment by NavyMom2013 on June 19, 2014 at 2:18am

Absolutely, yes Proudkmom,

Is your sailor new to IJ?  We try to keep tight lipped about what, when, and where our loved ones are doing to protect them as they do their OJT.  josh'smom said it quite well, so thanks for the reminder from her sailor!

Welcome aboard!

Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom, beautiful picture of Mayport.  I will have to check it out next time I visit family in Florida.

Hello,

I am new to this group. Anyone here still active members of this group with a sailor on this ship?

Pretty sunset!  "Check out this beautiful shot of Naval Station Mayport at night. Mayport's operational composition is capable of accommodating 34 ships and a 8,001-foot runway capable of handling most aircraft in the Department of Defense inventory."  From U.S. Fleet Forces Command on Facebook.U.S. Navy photo by MC3 Schneider.

My son said today that they were told to remind Navy For Mons not to post deployments or underway schedules. Just thought I would share this info if it applies to any moms.
