Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 243 and 244

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi I'm Morgan's mom.  Hope things are going well for your daughter.  Morgan loves it. She is in charge of laundry.  She has had a really bad cold, even took 2 days sick in quarters sat-sun to get better several weeks ago.  Last week her letter indicated she still had fluid in her lungs- not good for the gas chamber test.  I am hoping for a letter today.  I feel certain the other girls will rally around your daughter and encourage her all they can.  I hope we get to meet you at the meet and greet before the PIR. My husband and 15 year old son and daughter (yep! Twins!) will be with me.

Does anyone remember how late the "Meet and Greet" that Sarg was putting on will go to? Since I don't land in Chicago until 9:35 it would probably be a good 40 minutes until I'm at my hotel.

I hope everyone is well! I'm sure the remaining three weeks will be even more challenging; but I am sure each and every one of our children will do their best and meet their challenges with strength and maybe ....grace? :0

I think it only goes till 8pm he said. I am going to miss it as well :(

That's too bad to have to miss it. But the next day is my daughter's wedding rehearsal and the 9th her wedding so I should be happy to have a night where I can get some sleep.

Just wondering how much walking we will do for PIR...wondering what kind of shoes to wear! :)

Any thoughts on the best hotel to stay in for PIR? I was told to stay in one which has the shuttle to the RTC.  Does anyone know if this is best?

I think you asked this on the main PIR page too, right?  Just wanted to make sure you received an answer.  Navy Lodge is a good one (call the hotel directly as the online could show "full" but they may have rooms).  Book in your SR's name.  Others to check with if they are full are:  Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express, all in the Waukegan/Gurnee area....4-5 miles from RTC.  You can call Sarge for shuttle service from all of these hotels.  Call or text him at:  847 212 0246    He charges $3/pp each way (like the area shuttle service does....all of these are taxis operating as shuttles for PIR)....we took the area shuttle when up there (didn't know about Sarge then!) and it worked out well.  We left our hotel at 6:30 a.m.  and were in PIR Hall just a few minutes after 7.  There were already a good number of people there!  So be early!
