For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

@Tammy, I'm so very sorry. I have been praying for him. God is always in charge and has something else in store for him. Praying for both of you. Believing that God shows your son the plans for him soon. Just continue to trust in God and take one step at a time. NMH's to you.

Lala Ribbon Queen and diannep, Thank you for your prayers! The worst parts of all is that he has never used a inhaler since he was diagnosed with Asthma! And as a parent I should have not allowed the doctor to put that label on him without running test. But with all that aside, I know God has a plan for him and I just pray it is revealed soon for our Zacks sake.

Alicia: Sounds like he contracted for another job other than the one he went in with? That is all I can figure. That happens. They meet with a classifier to confirm/get denied their jobs (some have become overmanned by the time they are at Bootcamp). Wasn't aware there were 5 yr contracts though? Thought they were 4 yr and 6 yr contracts, but I am not to educated on the length of the contracts so that could be right.

SailorMoon: So very sorry....but hope that she realizes what God has for her future instead soon. But it is so very disappointing to these SRs, I know. It is a shame how many SRs are separated at Bootcamp....the numbers are high. When you realize that only about 10-15 percent of the SRs at Bootcamp are represented on this site, you can see that we only are the tip of the iceberg on here with separations---there are so many. Prayers for her and for you.....blessings to both of you.

diane: They have to be back every night during Liberty, whether returning to RTC or over at GL A School (those students move over there shortly after PIR). Up until about 2.5 yrs ago, it was ok for them to be gone for the weekend in A School in that radius, but that changed. Also, those on RTC base most likely will be shipped out the day after PIR. They have to be back on base PIR night.
