OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi!

Welcome to Navy for Moms!!

My Sailor Daughter's PIR was March 2013--can't believe how fast time has flown!.  She is an IT3 (Information Systems Technician, Petty Officer Third Class). I primarily provide scriptural encouragement for the PIR groups, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and a few of the other groups that I am a member of.  I'll also help out with anything that I am familiar with--all kinds of tidbits I learned during my daughter's Boot Camp experience~~  This site really made the time go much faster.  I'm so thankful that my Sailor daughter sent me the link for this awesome group of friends when she enlisted!!  Count 9 Fridays and before you know it, you'll be seeing your baby again at PIR!!  Here we go!!!

I am so jealous! I would love to hear my daughter's voice. I know she has only been gone for 10 days, but it's so hard not being able to talk to her whenever I want to. Still waiting for form letter. Have already started writing. Congrats Suzette....I know how wonderful that must of been. :)

He Called, He Called, He Called!!!!!!  OMGoodness he called.  I was sitting in my classroom and my phone rang and it was him!!  He needed some more security info but oh wow how good it was to hear his voice.  He sounds soo very good and even told me he loved me!  Of course, me, I started bawling and continued to do so well after the phone call ended.  My poor students were so (are still) worried about me.  LOL   I've done a pretty good job of holding it together, right up until I heard that baby boy's voice and then... pffft it was over with. I had a complete breakdown and am still really shaky but went home for lunch had a good boo hoo and am back at my desk with my poor students looking at me like I have two heads.. on the flip side, hey, they are all quiet and working in their books...  Did I mention HE CALLED!!!! <3   Wow I miss that boy.

Hi!!

Welcome to your PIR group!

My son graduated BC in April of 2012. He is an ET3, stayed in GL for A School, went to C School in San Diego, and is currently stationed in Japan.  The ship he is attached to is a  Whidbey Island-class landing ship, part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Squadron 11.

A few other veteran moms will be joining to help answer questions, offer support, and give you lots of information.

There will also be lots of pages posted with information for you along the way. They will be posted as the subjects come up!

Remember there are no dumb questions, so ask away!

Fasten your seatbelts...the next few weeks will be a roller coaster ride, but at the end of the ride you are in for the best hug ever!!
