To Whom It May Concern:

I received a pillowcase from your organization today and I just wanted
to write you and let you know that I am really appreciative of the
gesture that you have done. It means a lot to us to get a "little piece
of home" out here in the middle east.

A little information about me and what I do:

I am a Petty Officer stationed aboard the USS PHILIPPINE SEA.
Ticonderoga Class Cruiser hull number 58 (CG 58). We are currently
deployed to the Persian gulf in support of OEF, OIF and the current
situation that is going on in Iraq. We are the current go to people if
any action is needed in Iraq. I really cant say anything more.

Again I thank you for the pillowcases that we received.

V/r  ET3  ALEC USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58)

from the AF COMKAF group and she included a photo of it.  One of my local sewers made it.  This is why I like the photos of the pcs-I can check it out:

Thank you so much for providing my team and I all the pillow cases you sent. They are all absolutely beautiful. We all appreciate you and everyone else that helped you.

Thank you again! Jennifer

Heads at Ease:

I woke up for my watch, and I saw the pillow cases. I got the one I like. Thank you and God bless you for showing support to our military away from home. These are the treasures that you are making in heaven.

Very respectfully,  EM2(SW) Mario   EE02 Division   USS TRUXTUN (DDG103)

I am unfamiliar with the person he quoted, but that is an interesting quote.

I am a Master Sergeant at the Aerial Port at Kandahar, a night shift NCOIC for one of our sections. A box of your home made pillow cases has made its way here and the box appears to be mostly emptied so I am guessing the contents were greatly appreciated. I just grabbed one for myself and a festive looking one for my Dispatcher this evening, a young woman. Since you were kind enough to make and send them and enclosed contact information I felt it only decent and proper to send your group a thank you. So, "Thank You" from the Aerial Port personnel here at Kandahar.

Hello,

Our ship has received your pillowcases and I would like to say thank you and you are very well appreciated on behalf of the USS TRUXTUN DDG 103 family! The pillow cases are really nice and it brings happiness to everyone.

Many Blessings-  V/R, CSSN Txxxx

Hello,

I would like to thank you all for the pillowcases that were sent out to my ship, USS TRUXTUN, a few weeks ago. I never thought about it but I have two pillows and when the cases are being washed I have no replacements. It’s now much easier to send in my laundry without having to use a T-shirt as a pillowcase while I wait. I was also such a big fan of the designs that I went back and got two more of the extras for when I get home!

The notes say that my pillowcases were made by Barbara P and some by the Orchard Mesa Baptist Church. Thank you all so much!

LT Matthew   USS TRUXTUN

Items needed by the 10th mountain division:

Food and drink: powdered drink mix ( lemonade, iced tea and energy/vitamin mixes)

Quick protein: energy bars, granola bars, tuna fish, beef jerky, or summer sausage.

Snacks: small hard containers of chips, nuts pretzels ,snack cakes, cheese crackers and

Home made Cookies or brownies( these are in very high demand) in airtight containers.

Microwaveable Foods: Ramen in a cup,, mac and cheese in a cup, and popcorn.

Candy or gum but no chocolate because of the heat in the Stan.

Personal Care items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, cotton swabs, disposable razors, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, individual packages of baby whipes, lip balm, aspirin or other pain relievers.

Foot care: medicated powder, athletes foot ointment.

Entertainment:   DVDs, batteries ( non-lithium) phone cards, current magazines.

Thanks everyone. A little in each box would go a long way.

Lyn

BTW, don't mix food and non-food items in the same box. The perfumes from the toiletries gets into the food. This doesn't count if you are sending non-scented items with the food items.

thanks for posting this Lyn.  I got the same letter from another gal and just can't put my hands on it right now.  My plate is really full this weekend.

I knew that I couldn't post and asked ME to ask you to do that.  haha  I didn't even have time to email you this morning.  YIKES!  school is back!

while we aren't mentioned by name in this video, we KNOW who we are.  I did leave a comment saying who sent the pcs.  One of my adult grandsons in it-he has the green drink.  AND the reason they got the pcs to begin with.

Heads at Ease,

I am Petty Officer Rxxx onboard USS Truxtun. Thank you for the pillow cases. We all love them. We appreciate everything you are doing. Keep us in your thoughts. We are out here defended America and the world. I wish I could tell you more but it could compromise our safety. We will be home soon.

Very respectfully,  PO2 Rxxxx   USS Truxtun DDG 103

AND I just got this thank you note the other day.  I looked thru the photos and found it was the 10th Mt Div and Susan S made the pc.

Dear Sir/ma'am,
My name is PFC Anthony xxxx I have been deployed here in Bagram Afghanistan since January this year.
I am now preparing to leave possibly early next month. I want you know that I am one of the recipients of your nice pillow cases. They make my sleep comfortable! Thank you so much!
Attached is a photo of the pillow case on my bed!

May God Bless you and give you more!

Thanks once more,   With love!    Anthony

I recently received a pillow case someone from heads at ease and I just
wanted to express my gradtitude. Thank you so much it meant a lot to me
to know that there are people out there that appreciate what we do as a
part of the united states military

Sincerely,

SA BOBBY
UNITED STATES NAVY

Just got this note the other day.  Very nice of the young man to still write:

Members of Heads at Ease,
I am EMC Daniel K from the USS Tucson.
I am sorry it has taken me so long to send this email but I really appreciate the gifts you sent.
I don't know if anyone told you but they were a big hit on the boat.
It kinda surprised me how many sailors clamored for those pillow cases and there was trading and even a little fighting that occurred over those things.
So thank you very much for thinking of us.
Respectfully,
Daniel K
