Thank you Tiffany.  There is a wealth of information here to help me understand and prepare for my son's entry into boot camp Sept. 8th and graduation day. He is so excited and I'm so proud.

Thank you Tiffany. This is much harder than I thought it would be. This is a whole different feeling from when I missed my dad while he was deployed when I was a child, then the feelings I am exsperiencing missing my own child. Boot camp is 8 weeks,? Correct?

Thanks for the welcome. My son will be going to bootcamp in February and then to the Nuclear program. I'm excited for him yet a little anxious at the same time. I appreciate the vast amount of information posted on this site. I look forward to learning as much as I can to be prepared.

Thanks Tiffany, I am so blessed to have found this website. I know very little about the Navy, and have learned so much here. It makes me less apprehensive about my son's choice!

Thank you Tiffany for adding me. The no communication from him is the most difficult. We are " super " proud of him and know that he is doing something that he has talked about for years. He was always more excited about graduating from the NAVY than his high school graduation last June. I booked a Marriott Courtyard which is near the RTC. It had great reviews from others going to graduation and,it has a NAVY discount.

Thanks for adding me. I am new to this as my son justleft for boot camp last Wednesday. His friend left today for the navy. I heard of this site from one of the captains in he meps center in Albany, NY. People expect me to break down and cry however I am stronger than they think. I am proud of my son and his decision to join the navy and when he has a career from it and has made a good life I will be even more proud. to many kids now days turn to the drugs and alcohol he did not and was the only one from his senior year that chose the Navy in his school. any suggestions on hotels close by the great lakes Illinois base and reasonable prices for boot camp graduation weekend? I like to try and plan ahead and not be hair brained doing it last minute. I hope to get a lot out of this site thanks again for adding me
