HI Everyone,

My son will be graduating from "A" school in Groton on Thursday.  He's been on base since he graduated basic last October.  We kept him on our phone plan because it was cheaper and he uses his phone whenever he is not in training or on duty.  He will be leaving for Kitsap (Bremerton, Washington State), in a little over a week, and we will continue to keep him on our phone plane - because it is cheaper.  He paid for his own internet while on base, bought a car, took over the student loans I was paying for him when he was in college and has been paying for all his other expenses (food etc).      But back to your original question, depending on what he is training for, a contract may be the cheaper way to go and if it is cheaper to be on your plan, he could always pay you the cost each month instead of an individual plan.

Good afternoon ladies!

Question - Phones at sub school - does it make sense to have the kids get a phone with a contract? Or should they do month to month? I shut off his phone I paid for and he is aware he will need to get his phone at school, but just wondering what the best ideas are.

Thanks so much!

Hannah , Sub schooling can be up to a year or longer depending on his job. bESS Basic enlisted sub school is the first they will complete. There is a lot of training they go through. Good luck to,your sailor.

Hi! After BC he goes to CT for submarine school, this may be a dumb question but how long is his schooling here?

Stealing does happen and he may have been a victim of a theft. We like to think it does not happen but sad to say it does.

Congratulations Sharon!  Job well done!

My son got a new room mate yesterday.  According to him the new room mate's first statement to my son was...You'd better not steal anything from me.  Holy cow!  That's a way to make a new friend!  His room mate arrived straight from boot camp so maybe he was still in a state of exhaustion.
