Mine is Sonar Tech blue.
Mine is MT Gold. How bout yours?
Lisa, yes Nevada Mom's!
Lisa, yes, my son is on the blue crew Nevada. He told me his base is Bangor. It is funny though, he doesn't live in the Nevada barracks. He is in I think the Louisiana's barracks. His boats barracks were full. I don't know if he will ever be moved if room comes available. The only he said that was nice was the other guys in his suite are all on the same crew so when they were out he was in and had the whole place to himself for about a month.
Lisa, thanks for the kind words. I guess I was just feeling a bit low. Friends are talking about their kids going off to school/college and how they miss them. I just look at them sometimes with the "like really" face. Some people just don't understand.
Jeanette, that is funny how you find out more from the girlfriends FB. I actually asked my daughter if she had heard from her brother. She told me when she does text him it takes 4-5 days for him to respond. He isn't one to talk alot unless it is really important. I know they are working long hours and getting ready to go out so when he does have down time he is probably sleeping. I did send him his halfway box and he hasn't even picked that up yet. I hope he is able to get it before they leave. If not he will have it when they get back. I guess you could call it a welcome home box. lol
LoriM, totally understand your post. It is soooo hard when they dont send a little something in response. I find out more of whats going on with my sailor from his girlfriends posts on FB, which gets really frustrating as well. Your son is blue my son is gold on the same boat and they are both at base, for now :) And yes they are busy, working those long hours and getting little sleep.
Good Morning LoriM, I understand how difficult it is to not hear from them. There are so many things that run through your thoughts. If it has been two weeks and you were not able to chat with him face to face regarding his leaving, have you tried his sub email? Usually it takes about 5 -7 days and then sailormail is up and running. Also, another website I have found helpful is the facebook page for his boat. It puts you in touch with other wives/girlfriends/moms of his shipmates. Also, you might check with the ombudsman for his boat and see if you can be put on the call/email tree so you can be kept up to date on things such as mail drops. Chin Up Navy Mom :)
