DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Friends,

If you hadn't had a chance to check out my "PERTINENT PIR TIPS", now would be a good time to do so~~

Melissa,

The favorite hotels are the Navy Lodge and the Springhill Suites, Courtyard by Marriot, Residence Inn, and Holiday Inn Express--all in Waukegan/Gurnee about 10 mins away from RTC.  These hotels are also close to Sarge's Meet & Greet, a SuperWalmart, and lots of restaurnts~~

Also, none of the hotels require a deposit to make the reservation.  Call the hotels direct and ask for the Navy Graduation Rate or best available rate!

Becca,

Corrie is correct!  The new Sailors must return to their barracks each night by about 10:00 pm~~

Becca they can only stay with you during the day they have to return at night. If they are flying out for A school most of the time they will fly out Saturday sometime. But they have to return to their barracks at night they will know what time they have to be back by.

Melissa, I'll be at the Red Roof Inn in Waukegan, but most are staying at Navy Lodge.

Can my SR stay in the hotel room with us for the weekend after graduation or does he have to sleep on base?  I've gotten conflicting answers to this and just want a clear answer.  Thanks!!!

Hi Everyone!! Has anybody made their hotel reservations? Does anybody have any recommendations? My son is in Division 275.

Thanks
