~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Sheilamf:  Sorry, but we are not allowed to post last names of SRs on this site.  Please copy/paste your post, take out the last name (you can use initials) and delete the other post.  Thanks!

I had the best 30 min phone call from my boyfriend. I was so surprised to get that call! It was hard to hear him cry when I answered the phone and he is very homesick. I just had to remind him that every one is so proud of him and to stay strong! That call made my entire week!

Sad right now. My son called this morning and I missed the phone call. I deliver parts for an automotive store and I was driving so i couldn't answer the phone. He isn't liking basic right now and is home sick. One sad mom here.

Got my first call from my son today! He cried when he heard my voice. It made me tear up but at the same time it was a welcome reaction. We had a few years of tension between us during high school. He was struggling to find himself and wasn't the same child I raised, but now....I hear my son in his voice again. What a gift!

My daughter is Ship 03 Div 315.  Got a very unexpected phone call and it was great we talked what seemed like forever.  Her only complaint is that they yell "Time for Chow" and she is like "What?? We just ate and I'm not even hungry".  She misses home but is loving boot camp.  She said that she will get to mail out her letters on Sunday but just so excited to hear from her!

I was lucky enough to get a 20+ Minute call from my son (DIv 318). He sounded great & said his division was doing well working together. Is there, by chance, a Mom from PA, with a son with the last name Williams who's staying in GL for school, in this group?
