Lori there's a lady on Etsy who could probably make that for you if you want?? LOL! I love her stuff let me know if you're interested! Great idea by the way and thanks for sharing mrsb!
Ladies I also had a recent encounter with someone who was also clueless about military mom's and the college comparison aspect. We were at the airport in July saying another farewell to our son Ryan he's a Marine and he was off to Camp Lejeune, N.C. after completing many months of training. This most recent leave he had will be his last for quite sometime we don't expect to see him again for about a year. He leaves for a 6-9 month deployment in December. I was clearly SAD tears running down my cheeks in that way where they just escape without even trying. Gave Ryan one last hug and he boarded the plane. A lady in line said to me "off to college?" and I said "no he's a Marine and we won't see him for a long time, very hard to say goodbye." And she was obviously offended and taken aback that I said that and said to me "oh well college is just as hard too." REALLY? NO KIDDING? TELL ME HOW? I hate to make a judgement call but she was one of those uppity women with an attitude and I really had nothing nice to say in return so I turned abruptly and walked away. Oh well what can you do?... (I swore under my breath won't say what, but I swore). My husband just said to ignore it and not worry about it and he was right.
Mark I googled Zouve. Wow, that is one fancy uniform..lol! Thanks for sharing!
Mrsb, loved the poster. Maybe I can put it on a chain and wear around my neck when people ask dumb questions.
I was an oncology nurse many moons ago before marriage. It was tough on me emotionally, switched and got a job at Kaiser Permanente in Out Patient Surgery instead. Retired with marriage. Ex husband kept making choices on where to live and for short periods, made getting a job difficult so I just gave up on that. Took up cooking instead.
This future sub mom hails from Colorado. Tiny town of Pop 800.
We have so many pics by White's Bridge. And over at Townsend. My son used to LOVE getting into the water at Townsend and looking for crayfish and frogs. Oh, how I miss those days!
FlowerPower, Most definitely!! LOL!!
Pat L, so you are familiar with one of my favorite places, Fallasburg Park!
