Blondie - I hope you had a wonderful trip!
Vickie - when my son headed to boot camp, I ordered a little navy bible with his name on it. I highlighted versus of encouragement and support, and then at his going away party, I had all of the guests that felt so inclined to highlight their personal favorite or their prayer for him and sign their name next to it. My son derived a lot of comfort from that little bible, especially during the first few weeks which seem to be the toughest on them.
These are his two favs right now....
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalms 118:24)
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
I love the second one too. He has had a lot that has happened to him in the last 3 years that would discourage many, but he keep ploughing through and I still hear his sweet smile when he calls me (well, most of the time. :-))
Best of luck to your new sailor! We will be praying with you and rooting for him!
Hey, praying for all the SR and moms this morning to find rest in their souls.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11: 28NKJV
KathyMmom, you have my prayers and a big NMH!!
Good Morning all! Blondie - yes, thanks for that - I need to keep patience and courage in my heart.
I have a prayer request, please. After working so hard and going through so much medical stuff over the last two years, my sailor was finally declared Fit for Full Duty a few weeks ago and is in the process of getting new orders. His smile could outshine the sun! However, right after the FFD status, he ended up back in the hospital! Last week, we was diagnosed with AS( Ankylosing Spondilytis), a potentially debilitating form of AutoImmune Arthritis. He sees the Rheumatologist today. We are praying for minimal degeneration at this time. We have no idea what this will do to his status, and we don't know what will happen next.
Please pray with us that we can accept whatever comes with love, patience, humility, and that we can continue to see the joy and promise of the future. We continue to believe that God will allow us to use all situation to His Glory and purpose. Thank you.
No one, nor any thing, brings pleasure to the Father as does seeing His Son. Every time we obey Jesus, giving Him access to this world, we please God. Each time Christ forgives or loves or blesses through us, the heart of God finds pleasure in our lives.
