My son just got his date to leave for BC in October 2014. Haven't seen any posts since 2013 on this board. Looking for others that are finding there way here with same dates?

My son leaves Oct 1 too.  We just dropped our "other middle child", my only daughter (we have four) off for freshman year on Saturday.  Not quite sure how I will make it through the fall, but trying to be brave!  We Mom's are tough stuff - we can do it together:)

Joje - yes I know we are tough and can get thru this together. He is my one and only. I am so proud of him yet so nervous. He will be 24 when he leaves so older than most I think. I am not on Facebook or Twitter so I'm not sure at all how to do all this yet but need somewhere to not only get support but help support others going thru the same thing.
Jomac69 My daughter leaves for GL 10.1 also. Good luck to your son

Jomac69  - Best of luck to your daughter as well

Our son leaves oct 1. good luck to everyone!

My son leaving from Sacramento October 22.  Anyone else on that date, place?

Calamity

My son just had his date moved from the 27th to the 21st. I am really happy about that because now he will definitely have PIR before Christmas week. :)

My son ships out 10/21 or 10/22 from Hayward, CA. Although, all my boys are in the military and myself being an Army veteran, it's gonna be very hard for me to see him leave!! He's my baby!!

Hi My son leaves October 8, 2014..trying to get all the ducks in a row.  Did you go to an attorney for your POA?

Hope to keep hearing from others for support.  Thanks

Most future Sailors don't need a POA, but for those who do, the ones available online are sufficient to take care of the need in most cases and can be customized to address the needs of the future Sailor.

Thanks so much...I will edit and get notarized.

You are very welcome.
