~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Prayerwarrior,

You can go to www.pirgifts.com and click on any of the coins there to view a brief history of the Challenge Coin.  The ones there you see when you pop in are designed by Craig, a retired Sailor and dad of a current Sailor.  He is also one of the admins on a group here at Navy for Moms.  The ones he designed are directly connected to the ships at RTC Boot Camp!  That ships and their names are up above in the Discussion Forum.  My Sailor daughter really liked her Ship 03 (USS Hopper) coin that I gave her after PIR!!

Hi Prayerwarrior.  What ship is your SR in?  Mine is in Ship 14 Division 318. I bought the challenge coin for ship 14 the USS Arizona.  If you tell me your ship # can inbox you the link for the challenge coin for that ship.  I don't know if I am allowed to post links here

LoriM I am hoping today is my mail day.  Others in Div 318 have received letters.  So hoping my SR is not keeping his word of not writing to me...

Good morning all! Have to say that I feel so muh better after getting letters yesterday an hearing she is happy and enjoying military life. She did not get to call last Saturday because she had watch and that really upset her. She had written a note Friday and was so excited to call the next day. Said she cried most the day. Other than that everything has been good. Hope everyone hears good news soon!

LoriM, It is still a little early to get letters from your SR. It takes approx two weeks after your SRs move to their training ships ti get a recruit trained to handle the mail, and  they generally aren't allowed to write letters until the second Sunday in their training ship.

At first the recruits will only be able to write letters on Sunday and those letters will be mailed on the following Monday.
