~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Cher4hersailor,

The 3rd and final PFA is the one that has to be passed, so let's hope the first 2 gave him the practice he needs to push himself to pass!!  He will have several opportunities also to pass this 3rd one, but let's pray he does it on his 1st opportunity coming up!!

My son didn't pass the fitness the second time either. I am so nervous for him. I'm praying he does

Thank you diannep, I will keep you posted.  The letter I received today was heart wrenching.  He wants to pass so badly and can't bare the thought of disappointing his family.  Of course I couldn't be more proud already, I wished there was a way to give him a pep talk now, in preparation for tomorrow.  I will ck back in :)

Hope he does it, 1preciousgirl!  They get to try through Wed of PIR week, and if they pass, they will be at PIR (they can do BattleStations the night before PIR if necessary).  If they do not pass by then, they are not discharged---yet.  They stay in the FIT group and keep trying....I believe they get about 12 more chances before they would be discharged.  When they pass in the FIT group, the don't have another PIR....they do BattleStations and head straight to A School (although they will have a couple of days or so of Liberty before that so for families living close enough to drive there, they can spend time with their sailors then).

Prayers that he gets it done before 9/12!

Thanks for the info, I did receive a letter today from my son with the Battlestations date on it.  I wont post it here but only say it is NOT Wednesday....Final PFA is tomorrow and my son has not passed the first two attemps at running and is worried sick he wont pass tomorrow.  Im hoping for the best!

Comment by diannep on August 28, 2014 at 2:26pm

Just a heads up that we can't post exact BattleStations dates publicly on here or FB.  But you can private message the dates on here!

1preciousgirl:  They normally do not start on a Wed, but rather on a Thurs.  Many many months ago, they actually sometimes started on a Wed, week before PIR week.  But they haven't done that in a very long time.  It is possible that they are starting that back, but it really is not necessary since they can run 4 divisions 2 of the nights and 3 divisions the other night, getting them all done in 3 nights.  My guess is the they will be going next Thurs night, Mon night/Tues night of PIR week.  Just from what I know past groups have done!  But.....never say never in the Navy!  :-)

Good morning.....if a letter was sent Monday-look in your mailbox today!  Cant wait :)  And if I'm not mistaken and the division is on track, Battleships should begin NEXT Wed. and Thurs, take a brief pause then continue Mon & Tues.....its coming up fast !!!
