OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So excited! Just got the letter today!
My sr son is ship 11 div 329. Oh my the dentist he was supposed to get his wisdom teeth out last December but did not happen, I feel bad he will have to do it in bc. I think this site will make the wait a little easier, thanks to all
Comment by Kelliann on August 29, 2014 at 4:04pm
Our dentist said his teeth were way far up and would be years before they needed to be taken out. I sure hope the navy says the same...he hates the dentist too! Yikes!

OH MY :O my son HATES the dentist.  One of our conversations was "mom you think I should get my wisdom teeth taken out?????  You know I ain't about to be sitting up in there with no pain meds or nothing"  I told him oh you will be just fine!!!!!  OH dear....That will be the first thing out of his mouth when he sees me.  And I am going to record it for all of you to see.

Kat12....Unfortunately it's true. My son has 3 off his done a few months back. And it caused him to ALMOST be pushed back thanks to the recruiter not disclosing change. My son told the truth at MEPS. We scrambled the morning he was due to leave to get Dr all clear and release. Ugh! One of them is supposedly too high up in the jawline and oral surgeon said to leave it be. I hope and pray the Navy Dentist won't mess with it.

Hi Moms, so have any of you read about the Wisdom teeth and them being pulled during BC? I keep reading about this and I'm wondering if that is actually true? Will my son have his pulled even if his dentist never said a word about them?
