~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My SR will be staying in Great Lakes for A school also. He is in Ship 14 Div 317. I have not gotten a letter from him yet has anyone gotten one? Got a phone call on 8-23 and that was great!

Prayerwarrior,

All Sailors have to be back at their barracks each night. Their RDC will let them know the exact time.

The Sailors that have A school at Great Lakes are really the ones that will have time to do a city tour of Chicago because they will have the whole weekend (Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday) with their families.

Sailors flying out on Saturday really only have time for a meal, maybe looking around at the close by Gurnee Mall, and relaxing in your hotel room (taking a long, private shower!) and lounging in a set of comfy clothes you bring for them.  If you opt to take the train into Chicago, you must not be late in getting him back to RTC!

Ask your SR in a letter what he wants to do.  It's his day~~

Hello Prayerwarrior,, I have never heard of any sailor being able to spend the night with family,, they usually have to be back on base by 9pm but his RDC will tell him.

I have my room book at the Navy lodge for the PIR. Is there anything else I need to do? Does anyone know if the SR will be allowed to stay overnight with us? Will we be able to take them out for tours of the city?

My SR is on ship 12 Div 322. Are there an other moms out there with a daughter on this ship? It would be nice to have someone to share this experience with.
