Kathy - I'm open to any ideas, closer to the Grand Rapids area is fine with me! Just want to get together again!!!!!
Family always comes first. Keep us posted on him.
How about a get together at Sherwood's Brewing Co. (in the same plaza as the wine tasting place) on Sun., Sept. 21? They have homemade root beer, wine, beer, food and other great things!
Those jobs just get in the way of our fun!!
Hi Kathy - tell your DD "great job!!". Love getting a new PR. Tell the other daughter, these things happen. It is what it is. At least she finished. I ran a 5K over the weekend. Slower than what I was running last year because of losing my training because of the bad winter weather. But still came in 9th in my age group. I can see why the group size is dropping like flies. It's a crapper getting old!
tysmom - can't make this card making event this time either. Gotta work. Darn jobs.
As of today NO one has indicated they would like to come and make cards for our Hero's. This is a great one to give back to those who keep us free. Come join us! Please reply on this comment wall.
Welcome, new Navy Moms! I tried to make a list and name you, but I was afraid I'd forget someone so I'll you all a hello together. Yes, write lots of letters for BC--you are the lifeline for that period of time. I know my son enjoyed all the letters we sent.
My son was home for almost two weeks in July--he arrived almost one year to the day since he left home last year (364 days). We're hoping to be able to visit him in the fall instead of it being another whole year before we see him again. He enjoyed his time home catching up with friends, going to a Tigers game and Cedar Point, and just hanging out with family. That time went by waaaay too fast.
I can't make the card-making on the 20th, but I'm hoping to see some of you at another Michigan Mom get-together. Really enjoyed the wine tasting earlier this summer.
Even though I'm not on this site often, I do think of you all often!
Thanks Lorraine. I have found the moms out here to sooo supportive! While I do have several other family members that have retired from the Navy, I am not close with most and my uncle was in 50 years ago. Needless to say, things have changed drastically. SO its so nice to be able to ask questions out here and people be willing to answer cuz they were newbie parents too once.
Happy Friday Moms!
