~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello everyone,,  was wondering who got calls and who got letters for ship 11 div 319....please share with us as stuff comes in please.  When I talked to my daughter Saturday she said things are coming together, and some are having trouble getting into the groove of strict instructions.  Coming into week 4 things start to mesh.  They have a few that missed their run by seconds but that will come too.  Fill us in on what you all have heard.  Thanks.

...and to add to Crash's post below.....those staying in GL for A School have Liberty throughout the weekend (Daytime only, they must return each night to A School base, but lots of time!).

Fyi, for those of you who have a SR staying for A school in Great Lakes a short time after the PIR they will need to take a bus to the main base to check in. This can take up to 4 or 5 hours but can be quicker. Once they are done they will be allowed liberty and you can pick them up. Plan your time accordingly to accommodate this process. Just make sure they are at least 15-20 minutes early arriving once liberty expires. They will tell you when liberty resumes the next day.

My SR gave me a call this weekend for about 2 minutes. She was vastly better than her 20 minute call where she started off in tears. They are all getting in the groove and we'll on their way to becoming sailors! I am so proud!

Welcome 312 Mommy,

My SR is also in Ship 14 Div 318.  I had a nice long phone call with him on Saturday. The are doing awesome.  They are coming together and are beginning to work as a team.  Keeping my Blue Candle lit and hoping for continued success.  They have their 1st academic test today Tuesday.

Good Morning!

312 Mommy,

Thinking you mean your SR is on Ship 14, Division 318??  His Division is the important number to know as that is how his mail gets to him, where they are in training, and how you find out where he lines up at PIR~~  There are honor Sailors standing next to Division number signs directly across from where the families sit.

My son is in batt 318 ship 14. I had two calls in three weeks, but that more than I ever got when he was in high school lol so don't worry that call or letter will come. No letter yet. Son did not have my address. It could be that your SR doesn't have the number right or something silly. I just found out his batt and ship info this past weekend. PS I am a proud Navy mom from chi-town. 312 is slang for Chicago.
