~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks for the update, 2navykids!  Thinking then that it will be 295/296/945 calling then!

...and, no, NavyMadre.  You actually do not need the form letter to get into PIR. Your son's name will be listed at the gate along with the guest list.

Comment by diannep on September 16, 2014 at 1:18pm

NavyMadre:  No worries.  If you speak to your new sailor, ask him/her what password they wrote in the form letter.  That is what you need to get the gate pass.  RTC is very specific that the password is not to be shared on here with others.....we aren't even sure how the password works with the divisions.....But should you not speak to your sailor or he/she doesn't remember the password, no problem.  You can park at the train station which is right past RTC, about 1/2 mile (or less) walk back to the gate.  OR....you can take Sarge's shuttle ($3/pp each way) and there is no need for the pass.  If you would like to ride with Sarge, here's his number"

847 212 0246  text or call.....or....sign up at the MeetandGreet.

It will work out!

Sorry, deleted my earlier comment since it was incorrect!  We expect calls today from 295/296 and possibly 945 and 818.....sorry for the incorrect info posted earlier.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention, jaron'smom.  Trying to post with my little 11 mo old grandson living here with his mom and dad, 3 dogs, my older son.....lots of commotion.....and keeping BattleStations straight for so many PIR groups.....wheew!   We are not positive on who went through last night, except for 295/296.  I'm sure they went through.....but beyond that, there are couple of possibilities.  Thinking it is likely that the 800 and 900 joined them though.  Time will tell!

Can anyone help?  Suggestions?

Comment by NavyMadre on September 16, 2014 at 11:13am

I need some advice.  For the life of me I cannot find the paper that my son sent me with his address, graduation date, etc.  If I cannot find this will we still be able to get into graduation.  Please help, I am freaking out.

The parking pass is to drive on base for PIR.  But you should keep it just in case you could initially use it over on A School base.  I assume your sailor will be going over there in GL for A School?  If so, your sailor will be advised of everything once getting on that base.

Good Morning!

Oh, do we need parking pass to pick them up or I thought I read someone said we have to sign them out for liberty?
