sportykr, I wish we lived that close to GC. It is something we would do for our daughter as well. We loved having her home after A school graduation. This is the only picture I have with her sleeping on the couch.

Son left last Sunday from our house in Maryland back to GC after 10 days leave. Starts Power school beginning of October. Felt like old times with him here. Already warned him we would be coming for a visit end of October. We know he will be busy (like when he was in A school) but told him we would drive 600 miles JUST to have dinner with him that's how much we love him. Getting a care package of his favorite goodies to send him to have for when school starts October.

I'm going to give the game a shot also do they have a iPhone texting version. Neither of my twins use email anymore.

B'sNukeMom...I'm going to have to give that Words with Friends idea a shot.  I don't play the game, but if I could get my Sailor to play it with me and maybe his twin too, that would be AWESOME!  I'm trying to find ways to keep that connection with my Sailor alive.  He started A-school yesterday and it took all I had within me not to send him a text to ask him how his first day went.  I am dying to get some kind of message from him.  I am going to send him a cute little text today just to say hi and hope all is well that way when he finishes in class today he'll see it.  I just can't resist!

cotwinmom- I thought I was going crazy. I remembered hearing he was going up to NY but then couldn't find any posts about his move. Glad he got to keep his cute little car.

B's- thanks for the game suggestion. I'm going to give it a go with my boy and see if he will play along. looks fun.

I want to share a fun way to stay in touch with your sailor (and I also do this with my college son).  Play "Words with Friends" with them.  Nothing makes me feel better than to get a notification on my phone that a word has been played and I know it's either my sailor son or my college son!  They are the only 2 people I play with and it sure helps me feel connected to them ;-)  Sometime it's days (& days) before sailor will play a word but when he does it makes me feel so good 'cuz I know we are thinking of each other!  It may sound silly, but trust me - it's like Pavlov's dog experiment - you hear the notification sound & immediately you are conditioned to feel better.  It's the simple things in life LOL! (I bring this up 'cuz sailor just played a word and it made me feel good!)

That's right B'sNukeMom, prepared and flexible. That goes for parents, too!
