My son finishes OPS school the first of January and then headed to Norfolk to the USS Normandy. Anyone else going to VA?

Are OPS school and C school the same , or different? If different, then what is OPS school? My husband just started A school today! Anyone else have a sailor that just started?

My son turns 21 today. Him in San Diego and me in Fla. First birthday with out him. He's in phase two so hope there's not to much partying going on. How is everyone's sailors doing in STG school?

Hello debmil and daysia, so far my son is loving the base he is on and is really looking forward to STG school. He's going to be on hold for about another week and will start school soon.  Bootcamp goes by really fast. Doesn't seem like at the time but before you know it, you'll be experiencing PIR.

It's for family members, not spouses our boyfriends or girlfriends. You get to be on the ship with them from one port to another when they are finishing their deployment. It is a wonderful experience for all Of us to tryout navy life~and see what they do on a daily basis. Just be aware there are lots of ladders to climb and racks are small.....and tricky for me to get into...ask for bottom one...it works best cuz you can just sort of flop in;)

Tiger cruise is getting to be on ship with sailor on one leg off journey home after deployment. Mine was with mmHg daughter from San Diego to Washington....4 nights. It was an amazing experience.....using the ladders and sleeping in their racks...can't imagine it on a deployment...lol! I would do it again if given another opportunity;).
