That is great news joshmom; especially over the holidays.  And Beach Bunny - where in No CA? I am from up there.

Did you all hear about the recruit who died on the last test at Boot Camp?  So sad.  I feel so bad for his family getting notified about that just 3 days before graduation.

I enjoy the posts ladies - keep them coming.  I love to hear how our sailors are doing!!

Hello ladies!  Hope you all are doing well and enjoying this holiday season.

My sailor is happy to be back from deployment and back in Japan and I'm sure happy to be getting phone calls again! He's going snow skiing this weekend with his buddies and already has a two day trip booked over Christmas.  He enjoys skiing and snow boarding so it's great knowing he has the opportunity to do something he loves.

lucky Mom, enjoy it while you can....

oh, I miss football season, our school is in the playoffs on Friday...my son at home is a swimmer, he made JR Olympics and Northern Ca sectional team...my sailor was the football player...

Yup, mine is still at sea too and very, very busy...well, on the news almost every night...he hopes to be home the end of March too since he is on TAD orders on another squadron and has to be back to join his squadron before the next cruise...

Hello ladies! Nice to see some activity on here

candirad - sounds like an awesome weekend! Enjoy him while you got him!

My sailor is still out at sea but the last time he called he said he was going to put in for leave to come home in March and stay thru Easter. Fingers crossed he gets it.
I have been very busy with football. My youngest is a junior in high school and having an awesome season. They are 12-0 and became district champs last week. Saturday they play in the state quarter finals. It's suppose to only be in the low 30's with a 90% chance of snow! Should be an interesting game - wish us luck!

Take care all and hope your sailors are doing well!

Hi BeachBunny - as you know, my sailor ended up here close by (Lemoore, CA) so he actually stayed with me all weekend and we bonded; food, movies, more food, and more movies.  I am enjoying this while I can.

BeachBunny:  That is so nice of you.  My sailor is right here at home in Lemoore, CA for C-School.  It wasn't his first choice, but I kinda like it.  He will be here until March.  I am a pretty lucky mom right now.

Well..this is take 2..lost my post...gggrrr

Good Morn.....

candirad....I went to the Fallon base for Mother's day since my sailor was over there on detachment...yup, it's an oaia...NOT!..I for got how desert it is, I uased tolive on a horse ranch between Fallon and Reno....the base housing looked nice, there's no galley there, a small NEX and a subway...but they have a super Walmart for grocery shopping in town about 5 miles from the base.

After seeing the pictures on the ships FB page of what the packages looked like arriving on the carrier, I bought more duct tape! Good thing I vacuumed sealed one box, we'll see how it arrives. I sent him a mattress pad for his bunk. He did  say the PO berthing was clean and quieter. He said 50% landing on the carrier will lose their "cookies", good thing he is a rollercoaster nut and G forces usually don't bother him, agree that would be so cool. We went out on the Reagan last spring for a 13 hour tour off of Mexico for family day, roamed the carrier and watched an air show, that was so awesome to be standing 30 feet away from the action...This is his 2nd carrier, next deployment will be on the B, he laugh and say to him, oh, you keep getting kicked off one carrier and bumped to the next one. Actually he was asked to go on this cruise to help out the squadron in the shop next to his on the base..love the GW!!...that would be cool if their port matched, for a nice visiting of friends....my son was surprised at how many sailors he keeps running into that he went to BC and Pcola with that are different rates. Told him that would happen....sad day today as the carrier holds a memorial service for their fallen shipmate....:(
