While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We would like to stay the week, and make a Thanksgiving dinner, and also invite anybody who might not have a place to go. The Villas are full during that time. Does anybody have any ideas of a place that might have an oven for the turkey (i.e. not a 'normal' hotel). Thanks!

Comment by MichianaMom on September 17, 2014 at 3:35pm: Co-Twin it will be interesting to see how fast GC goes for Proto compared to BS as our sons were in the same class but mine is headed to BS. He has to check out at GC on Sept 26 and report at BS on Oct 6. He is pretty sure he will be in a holding pattern for awhile once he gets there, and isn't really sure when he'll actually start Proto.

Mine took his 50% exam back in July and still no idea of a grad date. First it was end of Sept, then maybe October now maybe December.....but he says it could even be early Spring still. WTH?! But who knows, hopefully GC will move faster than BS!

My son's class is 1403

I thought that was a really short Grad Hold. Means he could be in the fleet, undersea, Just like sponge Bob, by April or May?

I'm going to make it my mission next time sailor is home to get a picture of him sleeping on the couch!

That's a pretty short grad hold Co-Twin - Lucky for him. Mine finished PS on 12/18/13 & didn't start proto until 4/14/14.

That's an adorable picture, and it doesn't matter how old and wise they get, still our babies :)
