Kabar - i know our DS just filled in a "lease spot" for a pilot that left Pensacola.  I'm not sure how long his lease obligation is, but i think the original occupant has the ultimate obligation & that's why he found my son to rent & fill in an empty spot.

Hope he can find some roommates to fill in ... the guys in Pens found DS on facebook, so make sure they try all avenues if that what it comes to.  lol

Hope these links have some info for you. It appears that the best solution would be to get roommates to fill in until April. The remaining roommates should make sure that April is the end of their obligation (deployment of last original roommate).

Your son may have to consult the legal office on base for advice.  I know the landlords have all the power in these cases.  Your DS may have to find another roommate(s) to share the rent until the lease is up.

Wondering if anyone can make a referral or offer advice...

My DS is renting a house in Virginia Beach with 2 other pilots. The lease on the house is through a rental agency and ends in June. There is a military clause that breaks the lease in case of deployment.

The situation,,,One of his roommates is getting deployed next month. Another in February and DS in April. They thought the lease would be broken with this first deployment, however the leasing agency says not true. They want to hold DS and the one roommate responsible until the second deployment and then my son alone until his.

Has anyone run into this before? Can anyone make a referral for help releasing them all from the lease? Two cannot afford the place, let alone one. Thank you.

Lynn and Gatormom - I will keep you updated - this is Aaron's second time around so he is at least familiar with the area and has an idea of what to expect.   I highly recommend going to Power school graduation if you can,  it is well worth the trip.   My son has already told us that he is flying us down for his - I can't wait to go back!!

Gatormom, Austin has to report on 10/22. Not sure what that means but he will be moving to GC on 10/11 to settle into the house they have rented.

Lynn, will Austin start 11/14 as well? Our son mentioned many from his class are starting with him in November.

Gatormom, yes GC stands for Goose Creek which is technically the address for power school. Your son graduated with mine. Austin is renting a home with others from their class. He is also working at a recruiting office but 3 hours away from home. Carol, keep us informed on GC since our LO's don't report just yet.

Carol, is GC in Charleston? He returned home until November & has put in for 30 days leave. Not sure what the status of is of that request. He's working in our local recruiting office now. Thinking he'll want to live off base in Charleston so will reach out for suggestions as the time approaches. Sounds like they'll be about 6 weeks apart. Quite a few from his OCS class report with him.

Hi Lynn!    My son reported in at GC today,  I have not heard for sure when he starts power school yet.   He is getting settled into his apartment, waiting for the movers to drop off his stuff.
