~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hint for those driving to PIR:

On Buckley, the main drag to RTC, stay to the left (be on the road early, gates open at 6:30)...car line for RTC will be on your right.  Bypass RTC...and turn around right past it at the train station.  Head back to RTC from the opposite direction...it is an easy left turn onto RTC base, no waiting!

Good Morning All !  Safe travel today.  Enjoy the MeetandGreet tonight and be early to PIR tomorrow!

2navykids,

Sarge's Meet & Greet's address is listed down to the left in the Event's section:  Sundance Saloon, 300 Lakehurst Road, Waukegan.  Did you pop onto the one for PIR 09-19-2014 to RSVP already?  He needs to know to plan for food.  The event is closed to the public and totally family friendly!  If you are staying at one of the Waukegan hotels, it's really close~~

jensue0,

You're correct!  No need to call the USO at O'Hare.  Just show up and since his plane leaves at 6:00 am, plan to arrive at the airport at about 1:30 am - 2:00 am for the most time with your son.  As long as you are in the same area as all the Sailors, you should be able to just follow your son's group to get your Gate Passes with proper id~~

Found out my sailor's orders for A school today when he called. He's getting on the bus at Great Lakes at 1a.m. Saturday morning and flying out of O'Hare at 6 a.m. He said his CPO told him his family (us!) would have to call the airport to see if we could get "family passes" to wait with him at airport. Huh?? I thought we, his family, could just go straight to the USO at O'Hare and, as long as we had our proper IDs, we'd be good to wait with him. Veteran Moms, help?
