Lorraine: How is your son doing today?

Comment by Lorraine on September 20, 2014 at 8:27pm
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Scott came through the surgery very well, the hole in his heart is repaired, and he seemed pretty good today for a person who's had his breastbone cut open. He may be home Tuesday or Wednesday. Thankully the hospital is only an hour away. I was a bit off on my guesstimate earlier. His recovery is two months.

Lorraine, I hope all is going well for your son and his surgery. Such a blessing to have you there to help out. I can't imagine a hospital 2 hours away. Keeping everyone in my heart and prayers.

Lorraine, So good to hear from you!  I hope the next 5 hours pass quickly and Scott recovers quickly and with a minimum amount of pain.

The 25th or 26th both work for me.

I am in Maine with Scott and his family. Scott was taken into surgery a few minutes ago and we'll know more in about 5 hours. Lanie can only visit for 5 minutes each hour in ICU. She is planning to be back here this evening. Kale (5years old) is not allowed to visit in ICU so he and I will go visit Sunday. I figured today would be very boring for Kale if we went, and the hospital is almost 2 hours away, so we stayed home to play and take care of the dog. Scott and Lanie went up last night because the hospital provided a room. I also found out that Scott's orders for the Louisiana in Washington were cancelled for now. He has to go through a fitness for duty exam before being assigned but he'd still like to be on a boomer in Washington. I also found out more about his surgery. He has a hole between two chambers so that is what they need to repair. At this point he's off duty until November 15th, but it could be longer. I think he will heal quickly and I thank you very much for your prayers. This is open heart surgery.

Let's plan on Country Mill apple orchard near Charlotte on October 25th or 26th. Please let me know which date you prefer. We will plan to meet at 1 pm.

Hi Michigan moms, haven't been on in awhile. My son is underway at the moment. Hoping for some warmer weather. Need to clean up the yard, but a bit too wet and cool for me. Have a great week.

Comment by Lorraine on September 10, 2014 at 9:38pm

Thanks, karent.

Keep the orchard suggestions coming. We can decide whether we want to do Charlotte or Grand Rapids depending on those willing to come, as there are lots of choices.
