My son just got his date to leave for BC in October 2014. Haven't seen any posts since 2013 on this board. Looking for others that are finding there way here with same dates?

Mine leaves the oct 8...nice to find other moms in same boat..

My son will be leaving for BC October 2nd. (4 weeks from today)   - Feeling extremely proud!  He hasn't left yet and our family is looking forward to his PIR, and celebrating with him!

My son ships out on October 6....about 3 1/2 weeks away.  Trying so hard not to freak out!  He packed his room this week.  Most of it anyway.  He still needs to go through his clothes.  He's starting to get sentimental.  I can't decide if that makes it easier or harder.  Roller coaster emotions.  Sheesh.....

My daughter leaves 10.1.. crazy emotions

Just thought I would mention, since we are all at or close to 30 days out, that the Navy Federal Credit Union is great. I pushed my son to call them and open an account (you can't do it online if you are in DEP, you need to call) and they were super helpful. He opened checking, savings, and a credit card and they walked him through how to use all the features and tools on the website. You can download the form 1199A for direct deposit and have it ready to go so that is one less thing they need to worry about once they get to RTC. They have a great site and a good mobile app as well. Just checking another thing off the "to-do" list as we countdown the days. It seemed like we had so much time, now the days seem to be racing by.

Our future sailor leaves Oct 1. Can't believe it's here already. Good luck Oct moms!

twonoisybirds my daughter was just bumped from 10-1 to 10-15 from the Santa Clara MEPS office, They indicated too many future sailors were booked for 10.1

Hi everyone! My son leaves for Bc on the 9th! I am so excited and proud of him, but also nervous and scared at the same time!

My son was also moved up from the 27th to the 21st. His recruiter called him on Tue to ask if he wanted to go out on the 1st as they had an opening. Luckily it was optional because we have made so many plans for his last month home.

My son leaves for boot camp on the 20th of October 2014. He is a future nuke!! I'm hoping his PIR will be no later than 12/19/14!! What do you folks think?!

Yes, by counting 9 Fridays PIR is most likely 12/19/2014, but it could also be the week before, 12/12/2014, if he is placed in a division from the week before and is in a Push Division from that TG. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC. I left info on the Nuke program and more on your My Page.

Thank you!!
