My daughter just left for boot camp on September 16, just wondering if there are any other moms that have sons or daughters that left the same day.  I am trying to network with some other moms as we go through this unknown situation.  I have so many mixed emotions going on....I am PROUD, sad, terrified and most of all upset that I can not help my daughter through the tough times that lie before her.  If anyone else has kids that just left for boot camp, please connect with me.

Thanks,

Cheryl

My  son left 15\16th from nc  got the scripted call around 9 and got his box of clothes Friday

Hello all -

I got Brittany's box today via Fed Ex....I also got her letter!!!  WHOOHOO....that made my day!

Finally got the box today since we missed it Friday.

Britt's mom, What is your daughter's PIR date?  I've read on some other groups people are starting to get their letters and and some of them noted PIR dates of 11/7 so I'm just curious. We haven't gotten the letter yet--hopefully tomorrow. I'm expecting it to be 11/14.

My daughter's PIR is 11/7...hopefully you will get your letter today :).

My daughter left from Dallas on the 17th. She text me all day and called me when she landed to warn me about the scripted call I would be getting from her later that night. She has called three times since then because her paperwork didn't all follow her so she needed certain items faxed. Her recruiter text me her address this morning but I haven't gotten the box or a letter from her. It is nice to read about everyone's experiences; it will also be nice to meet y'all at graduation.                                               Thanks for sharing,                                                                                                                         Tracey-Bri's Mom

Tracey - Hopefully she has gotten all her paperwork together and you will hear from her soon that she is settled...I will keep you and her in my prayers!

My son lefrt for Boort Camp on September 16 also.  i would love to network with you as well.  I my oldest joined the Airforce 2 years ago, so i don't have as much anxiety as i did the first go around, but i am still worried about Darien.

My son left on the September 16 from CT. got the letter yesterday

can not wait to receive a letter from him.

Son left 9/17 from Boston - rec'd the 'box' which really was a big padded envelope w/ only a disposable cell phone.  No letter yet.

Hi Navy Moms,  My son left from San Diego on the 18th, arrived weee hours on the 19th.  I received his box today with his personal items but no wallet.  Does anyone know if they keep their wallet?  Also wondering how quickly I would get the address for writing letters?

A bit of advise for anyone having a rough time (I think we all are ;-)) I watched the video in the recruits section of the www.bootcamp.navy.mil web site and it totally helped me understand what they are doing.  I felt so much more relaxed when I saw it.  Just in case you haven't seen it you may want to take a look.  Thanks!!

Thank you Rhonda. This is quite helpful.

Rhonda K.

I think they get to keep there wallet.
I did not get my son wallet either.
