For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Lorraine on October 1, 2014 at 1:31pm: I left Michigan on September 12th and got back yesterday. I left Maine at 7:15 a.m. and arrived home at 11:40 p.m. Did it all by myself - just me and my audio book for company.

Colleen, it sounds like we were OUT of Michigan when there was beautiful weather. Was hoping to come home to the same and have it last through October (I'm a dreamer, right?).

Good to hear from everyone and thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers for Scott's surgery. He's as ornery as ever but now also healthy. His condition could have caused a fatal heart attack. I am relieved it is fixed and he's mending so quickly.

My daughter is going to Traverse City this weekend with some nursing friends for a wine tasting/tour. I know last weekend would have been better-weather wise. I am sure they will have a great time. I know I am not looking forward to the cold weather.

Marianne - I will be at Ann Arbor Sewing Center on Sunday taking a quilting class and visiting a church member who moved to your area.

I was up at the cabin this past weekend sewing my little heart out and the colors are stunning! About 15-20% depending on the area. What a gorgeous weekend it was!

I was in FL for a week & 1/2 celebrating my Mom's 80th BD. Boy I enjoyed the warm weather. Walking on the beach everyday - 2x a day picking up shells. I'm not liking today's weather.

They let us and my son's fiancee go through. I think as long as they show their military ID. Coincidence that my son is coming home this weekend for leave from San Diego area.

Comment by Lorraine on September 29, 2014 at 9:32pm: Lanie is due January 23rd. Scott had a follow up appontment today and everything is looking great. I saw the ultrasound of his heart and the doctor was showing us that the bloodflow was strong and going in the right direction. Scott is looking forward to a better and longer life. He has to be followed up once a year for the rest of his life. Only time will tell if the Navy will keep him. He is on convalescent leave for now. Thanks for asking, Yvette. Sounds like your call to your son was very timely.
