Navygirlsmom DIV263, the last time we took my son to DTW, they did give us passes to go through security. They let us and my son's fiancee go through. I think as long as they show their military ID. Coincidence that my son is coming home this weekend for leave from San Diego area.

Good morning all!

My sailor is home on leave this week before heading to San Diego this weekend. Do any of you experienced moms know if DTW allows gate passes for family members?

Thank you!

Lorraine - all sounds so good!  How precious that you were able to see the ultrasound.  So glad her pregnancy is going well.

Lanie is due January 23rd. Scott had a follow up appontment today and everything is looking great. I saw the ultrasound of his heart and the doctor was showing us that the bloodflow was strong and going in the right direction. Scott is looking forward to a better and longer life. He has to be followed up once a year for the rest of his life. Only time will tell if the Navy will keep him. He is on convalescent leave for now. Thanks for asking, Yvette. Sounds like your call to your son was very timely.

Lorraine: How is your son doing today?

Comment by Lorraine on September 20, 2014 at 8:27pm
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Scott came through the surgery very well, the hole in his heart is repaired, and he seemed pretty good today for a person who's had his breastbone cut open. He may be home Tuesday or Wednesday. Thankully the hospital is only an hour away. I was a bit off on my guesstimate earlier. His recovery is two months.

Lorraine, I hope all is going well for your son and his surgery. Such a blessing to have you there to help out. I can't imagine a hospital 2 hours away. Keeping everyone in my heart and prayers.
