This is a great group of ladies! Our son graduated boot camp four years ago and I got so much support from this group. It's nice to talk to moms who know how you're feeling when they leave for boot camp, you haven't seen them in over a year, etc. When well meaning people would say, "it was hard when my son/daughter left for college" I felt like screaming, "he's not going to college, it's different." Join us at the get togethers, there's a mix of whose been in for a short time all the way to a long time. We laugh, sometimes have shed a tear, but always have a good time!

I do not have any military experience. And she is my first to join.

I would love to attend some of the meet ups.

Welcome Splash! Love your name.... I echo JJ's sentiments - feel free to ask any questions here and someone will be sure to answer!

Splash, we all have been in your shoes at one time! These are very common emotions to feel, especially if it is your first child joining the military. Someone on this site will be able to answer any questions that you have or direct you to someone that can answer them. Keep checking into this site for answers or information regarding get togethers. If you can attend a get together it would be to your advantage because you can meet others that have kids in the Navy and share pictures and chat about any concerns.  We are here to support you as well as others.

Happy to have found the MN group. My daughter leaves for boot camp on Monday 10/6. I am nervous and excited for her.

OK, thanks! I can't make that one then by hope to next time. I live in Eagan if anyone lives near me and wants to get-together anytime.
