Submarine Sea Stories & The Family Knot - type those 2 into itunes and you should find them without much trouble! Make sure you select "Podcast" in the search results!

Also, I forgot how nice it is to share good news with other people that understand what earning your Dolphins means. I tell people and they don't understand and you try to explain. Of course, I didn't know anything either until my son joined. It has been a very enjoyable and moving experience.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We thought it was funny how he knew the exact time. We also loved how he wrote it in military time and then put it in regular people time for us. Also how he signed his name STSSN(SS) then his full name. I remember when my kids were in elementary school and they would sign everything with their full name plus the number they were assigned in their class.

Scubagirl, have a great time at BESS.  Bring lots of tissue and enjoy seeing your Sailor.

My husband has always called the network of moms in our town the "Momma Mafia," because "you can run, but you can't hide!"

My son once said it was great to finally do what he wanted without worry of me fussing at him.  I said, "You do realize that because of the FRG, I have your COB and Commander's wives cell phone numbers, right?"

He said, "Oh, shit."

How do I find the pod cast? Never heard about them. Funny thing happened at the party I attended with my husband last night. We are in Austin for his meeting and several of his co-workers have been in the Navy. I asked one of the younger guys if his mom was on Navy for moms and he said yes. She knew more than his recuriter did about how things would happen. He said he was on the Carl Vinson and had not contacted his mom in a couple of months when one day the captain came to see him and said my wife is on Navy for Moms with your mom and she is worried about you. I strongly suggest you get in touch with her today. I cracked up laughing. That will be my son. Someone will have to tell him to get in touch. He did justify his actions by saying he was really busy working on the ship. I just smiled as a mother csn do. LOL

Congratulations to you and your sailor!  I am sure you are a wonderfully proud mom.  It will be a new life on the sub now for your sailor.  It is a huge accomplishment!!
