When God created the molds for nukes and submariners, he didn't deviate. My former sailor has encountered nukes/bubbleheads up and down the management structure with the two jobs he has had. It makes for instant rapport and got him hired, of course. :)
Rebecca, the N4M groups for subs are silent (bummer). It's best you find the Facebook FRG group (which is normally a secret group, so you won't find it using the FB search function - it's best to send email to ombudsman, asking for approval to join the secret FB FRG group - unless no one took on the task of creating one).  But don't you think of abandoning us!
CO - Twin, could you start a RECIPES discussion and add some of your recipes?  I was thinking of using your lamb marinate on beef (I don't eat lamb). It sounded wonderful but I can't find it.  Add discussion here or in Nuke group.

Gooooo  Giants!!

BunkerQB- when I read your comment I laughed out loud. It sort of sounds like something my son would say to me.

I went to the main page for the USS Florida  SSGN 728 group, but their is has not been anyone there talking since January.

Oh my BunkerQB I think he means it.

Before our son left on his first deployment, he emailed me with the following:

  1. You might not hear from us (email, letter, phone) for an undetermined period of time. It's expected.
  2. Do not go into a panic and start worrying. We are OK. If there was a problem, you would hear from someone looking very official.
  3. Do not under any circumstances, start calling everyone on the planet that you can think of who might be able to give you information - that means anyone in the Navy up the chain of command, including our CIC, our Senators, Congressmen(women), Governor & ex-Presidents (my husband went to elementary school w one of them).
  4. If you don't follow instructions, I will not speak to you again. I MEAN IT, MOM.
