Sue,

When will we be mailing to the San Diego? I'll have 15 done sometime next week.

The kids are coming home this weekend and I don't get any sewing done when they are here.

Wave 3

I received this message from a Marine on board the MKI for a pillowcase I sent her.  Made my day.

Thank you so much for all the pillow cases you made, we really
appreciate it! We are so grateful for you taking your time out of your
day to make these for us.  Thank you again so much!

DRUMROLL Please!!!!!!!

New numbers are posted!!!  Check them out!

When I sent 4 patriotic pillowcases to my son and his "cube" buddies in June 2008, I never dreamed that alittle over 6 years later, my desire to "make a few pillowcases" would result in a group with a catchy name nor would we ever make and mail over 50,000 pillowcases!

I am impressed and AWED!  This wasn't my plan or goal, but The Lord has blessed it mightily and is was His plan.

Thank you to everyone who has gotten on board and has contributed to this number!

The USS Makin Island is finished-in 4 waves!  We have another ship starting next week.  If you have pcs, fabric, $ for shipping, please contact me.  Remember, HAE is a grassroots group totally funded by donations from the American people.

I meant to write yesterday, but got to stay home and decided to make 4 pcs-but I ended up making 5 and finishing the seams on 9.  A good day of sewing for me.  Here is a photo of my inspiration for HAE.  This was take in Oct 2008 while on the Tiger Cruise on the Lincoln.  It was such a moving sight to see as we passed the USS Arizona Memorial.  The sailors each saluted as the Lincoln glided by:

Hi GFTatter,

do you have my personal email address?

Comment by GFTatter on November 8, 2014 at 4:26pm

Sue... what info do you need for a ship? My daughter is on a carrier in port right now, but they will be going out within a year. And where there is a carrier, there is a support group ;-)

I am going to a family meeting in a few days and I can get info or pass info along at that time. But what info do you need? Thanks very much.

Happy Lord's Day!   Tucson is sunny and bright this morning with a bit of a chill to the air.  NOW, a chill for me is 65 degrees!

Don't laugh, I had 96 or so on Friday afternoon when my afternoon job hosted it's fall festival-mostly outside.  The theme was Pet Shop and the title was "the pet games have begun".  All the games had clever pet names.

Here's a photo of me getting face painted.  I thought she did a snake.  It wasn't until I saw this photo that I realized that I had a fish.  No wonder the parents looked at me odd when I said I had a snake.  The other cheek had a butterfly.

Maryellen could use Navy and Marine themed fabric,.  If you have some that you would like to donate, please let her or me know.

She makes the special command pcs and likes to use that type of fabric.  Thanks!
