Ahh. Finally, I received my husbands form letter. Booked the Navy Lodge right away!  Getting a little nervous. He is in Ship 12 DIV 035. Hopefully I get a phone call soon. My son and I are so Proud of our Daddy!

diannep-thanks for the heads up about ramada!  We went with them because they say its newly remodeled on the brochure they sent out with the form letter.  We cancelled and booked with Holiday Inn Express.

FIBroomie-did you go with the one in libertyville like the brochure or waukegan.  We did waukegan.  We called and when we were talking about the shuttle-they said that was with the 114 room package, not the 99.  I asked if they seriously thought we should pay 15 more per night for a 3 mile shuttle one day?  They gave us the room for the 99 and are charging a 6 fee for the shuttle.  Just wanted to let you know.

Civilians may stay at this particular Navy Lodge. It is designed that way for RTC. It is not located on RTC (Most are located behind the gates within the confines of a base), but about a mile down the road in the Forestal Village Naval Housing area.

When you call, let them know you are coming to a PIR and they will most likely ask for your Recruits Name and Rate (E-1, E-2, E-3). Your Recruit is your "sponsor".

If you have your own Military ID, you may book the room on your own. Even though our son was in BC I booked with my own Dependent ID as Hubby was in the AF Reserves at the time.

The breakfast was in a Navy Lodge bag and had a Bagel/cream cheese, granola bar and OJ. My other sons thought is was "the best thing ever"! Ahhhh, youth...gimmee a hot breakfast any day...hee, hee. BUT it was still good and great to grab and go!

The bottom pic is the NEX Card they can give you for the small NEX shopette (that CatMom mentioned)up the street.

You're welcome!

I know I have not introduced myself (I am a "veteran mom"). I will do it later tonight when the site is quiet so I do not interrupt the flow :-)
