Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Welcome! My son is in Div 024. They should be on liberty for Thanksgiving (allowed to leave the base) "Your Sailor WILL NOT be granted overnight liberty. Your Sailor may reasonably be assigned duty for several hours on either Wednesday or Thursday. If assigned duty, your Sailor will have to return in order to meet this commitment."

addgrey: you definitely are not being selfish!!  Thankfully she is very considerate and passed along the information right away, but it really isn't the same thing.  Hang in there...nothing is the same as actually hearing his voice, but until then remember that we all are sending positive thoughts your way!!   By the way... are you really dyeing your hair blue?!?  That would be AWESOME!!  AND we'll all know who you are at Sarge's meet and greet! :)

I picked up the dye over the weekend :-) It won't all be blue, but you should still know which one I am! :-)

addgrey; That's AWESOME!!  I've got red (cinnamon) hair and a nose stud...our poor kids!!  I actually was going to get some kind of Navy themed tattoo, before PIR, but my SR wants to get matching ones, so we need to wait :)  Hehe!!

:-) Awesome... I have wanted a nose stud for like 10 years... for some reason that is the one place my husband and kids seem to draw the line... I don't get it! Maybe I'll get it done during my alone time in Great Lakes- haha! I don't think I could ever convince my son to get a matching tattoo with me, though!

Just curious (and perhaps still sulking a little!)... is there anyone besides me who has not gotten a letter (other than the form letter) from their SR?

I have not gotten a letter yet.  I'm bummed out too.  I've sent 9 letters so far, maybe I'll try the fill in the blank questionnaire letter to make it easy.

Maybe this will be our week! Surely they had to feel guilty on Sunday with the stacks of letters we sent and I know they wrote us long, heartfelt letters (probably more likely to be one sentence long, knowing my son!) and they are making their way to us :-))) I am holding out hope for a letter by Friday.

addgrey: I did get a letter, and I know I'd be disappointed too, if I hadn't, but might I make a suggestion? Since I'm sure he DID want to write you, but had limited time...why don't you type up a few questionnaires?  I did a few, for my SR, and included a SASE.  That way she can either circle an answer, or fill in the blank, and just pop it in the envelope on Sunday afternoon.  She won't have to use any extra brain power (wasted time) coming up with something to write.  I asked basic questions- How's the food, have you made any friends, names of friends, how is PT, do you have a job yet, what's your favorite thing so far, least favorite thing, what do you want to do after PIR, is there anyone who will be alone, etc...It seems like a barrage of questions, but it's info I specifically want to know, and I imagine a gazillion things are going through her head when trying to write. :)  Anyhoo...just a suggestion, then you know there is a better possibility of hearing from him!!  AND if you get it out tomorrow, he'll probably get it in time to fill out Sunday!!

I already did that last week, so mine apparently has zero brainpower! LOL.. oh well, I know he is OK- will find other things to worry about. :-)

addgrey:  You did all the work for him and didn't get it back?!?  That's it, he's grounded!! ;)  Hang in there doll!  He knows who loves him the most, I have no doubt!!

I was 41 when I got my piercing, I love it!!  I'm way to old to have it, but who cares!!

So...that's two of us who will be easy to recognize at the meet and greet...whose next ladies? :)

Tomorrow is Wednesday!  :)
